Committee member Gamel Kheir said the day could not have been possible without support of the parents, sponsors and volunteers.
“In light of Covid restrictions last year, it was an extremely fun filled day for the kids and the kids at heart,” he said.
Parent Genwa Moussa said: “The Gala Day was a great way to bring the community together and celebrate an amazing Junior Rugby League Club that has become a second home to the families.”
Club president Richard Bronger said: “Our Gala Day was a historic milestone for our club, marking 60 years of sports and mateship. This very field that our kids play on is named after Steve Folkes himself, who has not only played for our Bankstown Sports Junior Rugby League Club but then played with the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, NSW and Australia. Our club continues to inspire our kids and this inspiration is founded on the dedication of our volunteers and sponsors, who I cannot thank enough.”
