Police investigating a noise complaint last Sunday about 1.10am, found a man and a woman, both aged 23 and known to each other, arguing outside the home, before a physical altercation occurred.
Police intervened and the pair separated.
While officers were speaking to the woman, the man approached a male sergeant and following a confrontation, it’s alleged he punched the sergeant in the jaw, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the ground.
The sergeant was unconscious for a brief period, and treated by other officers at the scene, before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.
He was treated for a laceration to the back of the head and facial swelling, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
As the man was being arrested, it’s alleged a probationary constable was pushed.
The man was charged with assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, assault officer in execution of duty, two counts of resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and affray.

Truckie found delivering drugs
USING his job at a fruit market in Flemington to allegedly deliver more than just fruit and veg, a 56-year-old truckie from Greenacre (pictured), has been charged with 18 offences including commercial drug supply.
Investigations under Strike Force Pangolin began in August last year and Detective Chief Inspector Steve Patton said that since then, it is alleged that a syndicate supplied prohibited drugs worth half a million dollars throughout Sydney.
Just before 11am on Wednesday, February 10, strike force detectives stopped a Range Rover SUV at Courallie Avenue in Homebush and allegedly seized more than $5,000 in cash.
A short time later during a search of a Flemington warehouse, police also allegedly seized a pen gun, ammunition, prescription medication, steroids and a small quantity of illegal drugs inside a truck.
During a search of a Greenacre home, officers also allegedly seized designer handbags, sunglasses and watches valued at $30,000 and more than $25,000 cash, as well a Nissan Skyline GT-R, valued at $160,000.
Police also searched a Dodge SUV towing a boat located near the Greenacre property and allegedly seized nearly a kilogram of drugs including heroin, methylamphetamine (ice) and cocaine.
Chief Insp Patton said police would allege that the truck driver was also “utilising registered post to send cocaine interstate”.
Strike Force detectives have already put three people, two men, aged 39 and 43, and a 52-year-old woman, before the courts on drug-related offences.
Investigations are continuing.
Seize cash, casino chips, ice
A 60-year-old man arrested at a Clemton Park unit (pictured), has been charged with supplying a commercial quantity of drugs and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Drug and Firearms Squad detectives charged the man after allegedly seizing illicit drugs, nearly $400,000 cash and casino chips valued at $23,600, during a police operation.
In September 2019, Strike Force Kilkerran was formed to investigate a criminal syndicate involved in the supply of prohibited drugs – mainly methylamphetamine (ice) – across NSW.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives executed five search warrants last Thursday at properties at Clemton Park, Hurstville and Beverly Hills.
During the searches, police allegedly seized more than 670g of methylamphetamine (ice), with an estimated potential street value of $360,000, nearly 20g gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL), $392,000 cash, casino chips valued at $23,600, and electronic devices, documentation, chemicals and equipment consistent with the supply and manufacture of prohibited drugs.
All items will undergo further examination.
