Acting on information, officers from Strike Force Raptor stopped a white Mercedes at the intersection of Arthur and Virginia streets, Rosehill, about 6pm and during a search of the car, allegedly seized a sports bag and black garage bag containing $800,000 cash, documentation and mobile phones.
The 31-year-old male driver and 32-year-old male passenger were arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.
A short time later, they searched a unit at William Street, Granville, and allegedly seized a money counter, a large amount of documentation, an electronic stun device and an amount of white powder.
A white Toyota Hilux was also searched, with officers seizing further documentation. All items located during the operation will undergo further examination.
Both men were both charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, while the older man was also charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
They were refused bail to reappear in court on Thursday, January 28.
Man, 72, critical after hit by car
A MAN is in a critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Granville last Sunday night.
The 72-year-old was walking along Louis Street, Granville, about 9.40pm when he was hit, leaving him in a critical condition, with head and leg injuries.
The 58-year-old female driver was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing. Police are investigating.
Arrest woman over drug, ID info
A WOMAN has been charged with serious drug offences after she was arrested in Guildford last Wednesday.
In mid-2020, Parramatta detectives began investigations into a 32-year-old woman’s alleged role in the supply and distribution of prohibited drugs across the Sydney Metropolitan area.
The investigation led police to execute a search warrant at a home at Guildford, where investigators allegedly found what is believed to be 215g of methylamphetamine, 44g of ecstasy pills (approximately 100), 21g of cocaine, 7g of heroin and $165,345 which is believed to be the proceeds of crime.
Investigators also allegedly seized a large quantity of fraudulent NSW driver’s licences and equipment used to create the fraudulent documents.
The woman faces several charges for supply prohibited drug, as well as deal with property proceeds of crime, possess identity info to commit indictable offence and possess equipment to make identity info.
