You-tuber Rapper Moe who has been performing for over a decade, said he was approached a couple of months ago with the idea of forming a group of musicians from various areas across Sydney and not just from one or two ‘preferred’ postcodes.
“In our first single, ‘Every Area Da Same’, that is the message,” the former Belmore Boys High School student said.
“It is not America and there are no ghettos here; it doesn’t matter if you’re from the Shire, the Inner West, Bankstown or Campbelltown, we are all the same, share the same culture and have the same hopes and dreams.
“We want to let young people know that it’s not cool to put others down based on where they live or grew up.
“Our message is just to enjoy life and be grateful that we live in the best country in the world and that, more importantly, we are all equal here, it doesn’t matter what your background is or what school you attended.”
With other Boyz from Da Area members comprising Sugar D (Bondi), Lil Pen (Penrith) and J-Muscle (Cronulla), Moe said they had already received lots of feedback from fans who are keen to hear more.
“We’ve got more singles coming, for sure, and are looking forward to staging some live shows once Covid restrictions lift,” he said.

Rappers urge stop dissing
SIMILAR to poetry but delivered in rhythmic time to musical accompaniment, Rap often features street vernacular and in the case of Bankstown’s Moe and his Boyz from Da Area band, who have just released their first single, it’s all about encouraging young people to stop ‘dissing’ each other.
