It has been fantastic to see the reaction of our patients and staff who are so impressed with the new ED’s bright and contemporary design.
The layout of the new space means we can streamline our patient flow with more than 500 patients treated in the first week.
When the full redevelopment is complete, the ED will include additional adult and paediatric treatment spaces, increased capacity in the short-stay unit and more resuscitation beds, as well as a new waiting area.
The recent community transmission of Covid-19 in south western Sydney, has shown that we must continue to be vigilant in our battle to stop the spread.
Anyone who is feeling unwell, even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat, should come forward to get tested so cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.
The hospital’s Covid-19 testing clinic is open seven days a week from 8am to 6pm.
