Retiring after a 42-year career in policing, he said he was hoping to travel with his wife “when circumstances allow”.
Joining the force in 1978, initially in general duties and from 1981 in criminal investigations, he moved up through the ranks before being promoted to superintendent in 2002 while at the Rocks Police Station.
Det Supt Rogerson served as commander at Eastern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and did a secondment to the Premiers Department before being appointed as the top cop at Auburn in 2010. Recently receiving the Commissioners Commendation for Service, he also has the Australian Police Medal, Centenary Medal, National Police Service Medal, National Medal with two clasps, and NSW Police Medal with six clasps.
