For Anna Nguyen of Punchbowl, seeing these services return has “overwhelmed” her.
“I’ve been using the library for years and now these changes have come back I can start to really appreciate this wonderful service for our community again,” Ms Nguyen said.
“From my heart, it really feels so wonderful.”
Mayor Khal Asfour says residents, such as Ms Nguyen, will be able to keep using Canterbury-Bankstown libraries safely as the council rolls out its third and final stage in its CovidSafe Library reopening plan.
“We know the community has been itching to get back into the libraries and browse our bookshelf collections, so I’m excited to announce residents can now do that up until 8pm at Campsie and Bankstown libraries, Monday and Thursday,” he said.
Strict social distancing and hygiene practices remain in place, and restricted operating hours will remain at Campsie and Bankstown.
