• A REVESBY dog lover is frustrated by the actions of an “inconsiderate and irresponsible” pet owner who allows their dog to roam unleashed in Langdale Avenue late at night and early in the morning. “It poos and urinates on my verandah steps and garden,” she said. “They know rangers don’t patrol at these times so they avoid fines. I would appreciate if they took some responsibly for their own pet. At the age of 88, I am tired of doing it for them.”

• PROBUS Club’s Jean Robson writes: “It is with much regret that due to the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19), the Padstow Heights Probus Club has cancelled all future meetings and outings until further notice. Members will be advised of any further changes prior to the May 5 meeting. Keep safe, keep well and keep on washing your hands with soap and water.”

• A REVESBY caller got a bit of a shock when he asked if his mother’s weekly drop-in carer could wear a mask on her next visit. “The company employing that carer was quite taken aback when I made that request and said that would mean them supplying each carer with five or six masks because that’s how many clients they see in a day, and that would add up to be an expensive exercise,” he said. “But I think this is one area, where you are dealing with elderly people everyday, that should take priority even if it does eat into a few profit margins, it is worth it.”

• BABIES and small children need eye contact to develop their vocalisation skills according to researchers, so put down your mobile devices and start making faces at babies. The links between eye contact and emotional responsiveness have been reported in a number of studies and besides, seeing a baby react to human contact with a smile is one way of guaranteeing a warm fuzzy feeling that lasts far longer than comment on any social media post.
