Tip to make shop attract customers

AS a shopper, walking down a shopping strip leaves you open to a range of different options. So how does a shop stand out in a crowd?

Introducing free visual merchandising creative concepts and how to catch the eye of potential customers, Lidcombe Design TAFE, in collaboration with Cumberland Council, is conducting a two-hour workshop/conversation on Wednesday, March 4, 2–4pm.
Called ‘Retail Interiors & Visual Merchandising’, it will be hosted by TAFE Head Teacher Emma Lawes along with TAFE Design Teacher Narie Whitby.
With extensive experience in all areas of interior design and building design, Emma also has stage and screen design expertise.
Nominated three times for the Idea Awards in Furniture Design, Narie is a qualified Interior Designer but has worked in all areas of the design industry – from graphics and furniture interiors, to event co-ordination.
You’ll learn about the importance of colour and style, with the workshop’s aim to uncover the secrets of engaging potential customers and how to create successful retail environments and product displays.
Narie said: “We plan to inspire retailers to make wonderful and financially successful changes in their store.”
“One of the greatest things about visual merchandising is that it doesn’t need to cost you a fortune. Through visual merchandising you have total visual control over your retail space and by investing some time and energy into your store, you can merchandise it into whatever you want it to be.”
