JOIN Joy of Giving for their second Community Toy and Back 2 School Swap at Marrickville Metro next month.
A spokesperson says the goal is to give preloved toys new homes with others in the community, where the owners will love new toys as much as their original owner.
And it’s really simple to take part.
All you have to do is: Bring in your toy/s and school supplies i.e. stationery, accessories, books; you’ll be provided with ‘toy tokens’ to use to swap for other items; kids are free to have a play with the toys on mats provided to see if they’re happy with their choice; and if you haven’t been able to use the token on the day, keep up to date with Joy of Giving’s regular events to use the token at another event.
To take part, get along to the centre on February 2, 10.30am-2.30pm.
The centre will also celebrate the Lunar New Year, with youngsters invited to decorate their own parasol. Hosted by Lil Crafters, the session runs for 30 minutes and cost is $5 a person.
