Emergency services were called to Unwins Bridge Road, Sydenham, just after 9.30pm on Sunday, January 12, after two men forced entry into a home and confronted three occupants.
Police have been told the males armed with crow bars threatened the residents – two women, aged 20 and 52, and an 18-year-old man – before assaulting the man and detaining him and the younger woman in a room.
The men ran from the scene when police arrived.
The older woman and man were taken to hospital suffering minor injuries but have been released.
As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives have released CCTV vision of a silver sedan, which was seen on Unwins Bridge Road shortly before the incident.
Anyone who has any information about the vehicle or who has dash cam vision from the area about 9.20pm the same day, is urged to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
