Club hosting bushfire appeal

FEATURING fantastic live bands, stalls, a bar and barbecue, Pratten Park Bowling Club is hosting the Inner West Music Fest Bushfire Appeal this Sunday, January 19, 12-6pm.

Club President Gordon Latham says it’s an event not to be missed, with all proceeds going to those communities ravaged by recent bushfires.
“All support will be greatly appreciated to help us make a difference to many of those people who have lost everything,” he said.
“It’s just so terrible; we’ve never seen anything like it. It’s a national crisis and about the worst thing that’s happened to us since Cyclone Tracy in 1974 but this disaster is affecting the whole nation and we’ve all got to pull together and do what ever we can to help.”
The family friendly event at the club at 42 Arthur Street, Ashfield, will include catering supplied by MetroAssist, the refugee support and training provider, and first class entertainment for adults as well as activities like face painting for children.
“There will be a lot of friendly and familiar faces in the Ashfield community in attendance that will be keen to enjoy a relaxing afternoon for an important cause,” Mr Latham added.
Entry is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged over five, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Bushfire Relief Appeal.
