Joining world-leading experts in fields, including cardiology, infectious diseases and drug abuse, Beyond Blue ambassador Jessica Rowe was among the headline speakers at the event, discussing the bravery of asking for help as part of the perinatal psychiatry symposium.
Her speech was one of more than 100 presentations covering diverse topics ranging from botox and fillers, Chinese herbal medicine and the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Hospital Week is an annual showcase organised by the Westmead Association led by executive officer Georgette Hanna.
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) chief executive Graeme Loy adjudicated the annual great debate, on the topic ‘all doctors’ activities can be replaced with a machine’, which was lost by the affirmative team.
“It was interesting to see how the doctors on the affirmative essentially argued themselves out of a job,” he said.
“Hosting a dazzling array of brilliant minds under one roof is what we do here every day at Westmead Hospital, but Hospital Week is special.
“There was something for everyone to learn.”
