Strike Force Sapphire was established by State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad to investigate the alleged supply of large commercial quantities of prohibited drugs across NSW.
Last Monday about 1.15pm, strike force detectives – with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit and Raptor Squad’s Traffic and Highway Patrol officers – arrested two men, aged 35 and 32, in Homebush, where they allegedly seized approximately $295,000 in cash and 4kg of methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6 million.
The older man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity and supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, and the younger man was charged with supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, custody of knife in public place and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
