A FUNDRAISING garden walk and opera lunch will be held at Maybanke Aged Care Plus in Dulwich Hill on Monday, September 24, to help raise awareness of The Salvation Army's Families in Crisis services.
Families in Crisis is a service The Salvation Army offers Australiawide to give hope where it is needed most through social welfare and community service programs. Programs include providing shelter for the homeless, assisting families in crisis through practical support and financial counselling, and guiding people with addictions through to a clean, healthy lifestyle.
The annual event will start at 9am.
Environment awards on
NOMINATIONS are now open for the annual Inner West Business Environment Awards, celebrating sustainable achievements and positive contributions to the environment.
Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne described the environmental achievements of some Inner West businesses as "phenomenal".
"I'm looking forward to unearthing many of the area's environmental success stories," he said.
"We're also asking our residents to tell us about any businesses that are working towards a more sustainable future and deserve nomination."
