An open day will be held at a new million dollar childcare centre this Saturday.
THE local community will get a preview of a new million dollar childcare centre this Saturday at Panania.
The Educare Playskool will cater for 40 children aged up to six years of age, and is scheduled to open for business on Monday, July 2.
This Saturday from 10am to 2pm there will be tours, a chance to enrol, light snacks, jumping castle and face painting, as well as a few special guests, including Canterbury Bankstown councillor Steve Tuntevski.
Director, Sonia Hickry said Panania was chosen for the centre due to the many young families in the area who can benefit from the centre's high quality service.
"The people of this area are genuine, down to earth and respectful of the diverse cultures among the community," she said.
"I am also passionate about inclusiveness in the childcare industry, having an autistic child myself I know the hardships that are faced that occur on a day to day basis.
"I believe all children have the right to be in an environment which is not only accepting but promoting inclusive practices within the service. Given the right support and opportunities allows for each and every unique child to grow, develop and reach their full potential in all areas of development."
The new centre has three rooms, generous in size, allowing for varying play spaces such as construction area, art and craft and numeracy and book corner for quiet spaces. There is also an outdoor playground equipment and resources provides varying textures and activities which allow and supports stimulating fun and adventure.
"We plan to have chickens to provide us with organic eggs in which we can use to eat," Mrs Hickry said.
The open day will be held at the centre, located at 139 Horsley Drive Panania. For further information call 9747 5414.
