FIRE crews were called to a brick veneer cottage on Carol Crescent, Roselands, on Monday.
Fire & Rescue NSW said Lakemba and Riverwood crews were called to the fire, which was extinguished with half an hour. The fire is believed to have started in a power box and spread to two wheelie bins parked underneath.
Neighbour Mark Dodds said he called triple zero about 1pm after noticing the blaze.
"I was out mowing the lawn when I noticed all the smoke," he said.
The fire caused extensive damage to the side of the house.
