‘Mini Rabs’ is a hit with his calls

Story appeared in: Torch | April 17th, 2018

THE Torch has invited 14-year-old Michael "Mini Rabs" Ponticello (pictured) to report on the NRL season so far and what to expect as the season unfolds. Michael, from Revesby, has earned himself the nickname, "Mini-Rabs" (in respect to football commentator, Ray 'Rabbits' Warren) after his regularly guest features on Ben Fordham's 2GB radio show and his rugby league knowledge.

THE NRL competition has started off with some really strange results this year.  People have been really struggling to get all their tips right due to this unpredictability and inconsistency. Therefore, based on what I have seen so far, I believe that the teams to really watch out for in 2018 will be the Wests Tigers, New Zealand Warriors and St George Illawarra Dragons. Benji Marshall, Shaun Johnson and Ben Hunt are doing outstanding jobs for these teams. I would love to include my Sea Eagles as being one of the teams to watch out for, however, there is little chance of Manly being there at the end unless they maintain more consistency. At this point in time my predictions for the final eight are:
Wests Tigers,
New Zealand Warriors,
St George Illawarra Dragons,
Sydney Roosters,
South Sydney Rabbitohs,
Manly Sea Eagles,
Penrith Panthers and
Brisbane Broncos.
