Drugs and pistol found

A man will face court today on drug and firearms offences after police allegedly seized a handgun, cocaine, and ice during a search warrant in Bankstown yesterday.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Drug and Firearm Squad are conducting ongoing investigations into the supply and possession of illicit drugs and firearms across Sydney.
As part of ongoing investigations, detectives executed a search warrant with the assistance of South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad at a home at Bankstown about 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday 10 April 2018).
During the search, police allegedly located a Springfield 1911 semi-automatic 9mm pistol and magazine, cocaine, methylamphetamine (ice), CCTV hard drive, cash, jewellery, and a mobile phone.
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Bankstown Police Station.
He was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered pistol, not keep firearm safely (pistol), possess ammunition, and two counts of supply prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court later today (Wednesday 11 April 2018).
Inquiries are continuing.
