Time to remember our fallen heroes

CANTERBURY Bankstown is gearing-up for its traditional ANZAC Day commemorations this weekend ahead of the official dawn services on Wednesday, April 25.
A remembrance service will begin at 11am this Saturday at the 25 Brigade Memorial on Remembrance Driveway, corner of the Hume Highway and Miller Road, Bass Hill.
This Sunday Padstow RSL Club will host a service from 10am at its cenotaph, while Panania Diggers will lay wreaths from 2.30pm at the Panania cenotaph.
Continuing the Sunday services, Lakemba RSL will host a service in the Lakemba Club's auditorium at 3pm.
A march from Canterbury Boys High School to the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club will begin at 2pm this Sunday before a 2.20pm wreath laying ceremony.
There will be a number of Anzac Day dawn services on Wednesday across the Canterbury Bankstown region.
The Chester Hill march begins from Leicester Street at 6.30am to the club memorial, with a service starting at 6.45am.
At Bass Hill RSL a march will start from the corner of Hector and Buist Street to the club for a dawn service from 5.30am.
At Padstow, the RSL Sub Branch will host a 6am service at the cenotaph, followed by a march to the club. Panania Diggers memorial will begin at 4.30am at the cenotaph, while Lakemba RSL Sub Branch will march from the club to the Lakemba cenotaph for dawn service at 7am.
Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL's service begins at 5.15am.
