A CHILDCARE centre in Auburn was evacuated after a fire broke out in a neighbouring residential unit block last Friday afternoon.
A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW said the fire, which broke out in an electrical switchboard in the building's basement just after 3pm, was quickly contained.
"The childcare centre was evacuated as a precaution." he said.
"We had seven crews on scene with two hose lines and they had the fire contained by 3.29pm.
"Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire is undetermined."
