Hunt for gang bashing thieves

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Lidcombe overnight.
The 22-year-old was riding a bicycle with two other friends along Parramatta Road at 11pm, when he was approached by a group of five to six men and allegedly pushed to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked.
The men then stole the injured man's bike before fleeing towards Auburn.
He sustained injuries to his face, ribs and abdomen and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from Flemington Police Area Command are investigating and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Auburn Police Station on 9646 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Trio take phone, cash
Police are appealing for public assistance after a robbery in Old Guildford earlier this year.
About 7.15pm on Wednesday, January 24, a 23-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop near the intersection of Woodville Road and Orchardleigh Street, when he was approached by three men demanding money.
Two of the men held the 23-year-old man against the wall of the bus stop while searching his pockets. The men took his mobile phone, wallet and cigarettes.
The 23-year-old man attended Parramatta Police Station where he reported the incident.
Police would like to speak with three men (pictured above), who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s, with a solid build, black beard, and wearing an orange/black singlet.
The second man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s, with a solid build, and wearing a blue sleeveless shirt.
The third man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20's, medium build, wearing a white 'Lonsdale' sleeveless shirt.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Girl assaulted on train
A TEENAGE girl was allegedly indecently assaulted on a train from Central to Granville.
About 12.30pm on Monday, January 1, a 12-year-old girl boarded a train at Central Railway Station with her family to Granville.
The teenage girl sat next to a man on the train.
During the trip, the man attempted to engage in a conversation with her. He then allegedly indecently assaulted the girl. The man exited the train at Granville Railway Station.
The teenager exited the train at Parramatta Railway Station with her family and alerted police.
The man is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, aged between 30 to 40, clean shaven with acne on his face. He is depicted wearing a long sleeved lilac shirt, and wearing white pants.
Police are urging anyone with information, or anyone who knows the identity of the man, to come forward.
