Centre to mark 40th

CHESTER Hill Intensive English Centre will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this Friday.
The Chester Hill Intensive English Centre (IEC) was established in March 1978 and this year, marks its fourth decade of operation, which will be celebrated in the school hall.
Acting Deputy Principal Sagar Maharaj says there will entertainment, a 40-year trip down memory lane, planting a commemorative tree and burial of a time capsule, as well as the cutting of a birthday cake.
Chester Hill IEC provides intensive English tuition to newly arrived, high school aged students whose first language is not English. In addition, Chester Hill IEC provides orientation, settlement and welfare programs to prepare students for learning in a NSW government high school and to participate in Australian society. Chester Hill IEC is located on the grounds of Chester Hill High School.
