Deadly dumping

INVESTIGATIONS are underway after asbestos was illegally dumped in Clemton Park last Wednesday evening.
About 5.45pm, a tipper truck carrying contaminated waste believed to be asbestos, was allegedly dumped on the roadway along Hillside Avenue, Clemton Park.
Campsie Police were first on the scene and cordoned off the roadway. Firies sprayed a sealing agent on the pile and covered it in plastic before it could be safely removed.
The matter has been referred to the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) for further investigation.
Illegal dumping is a serious crime that can have severe impacts on the environment and can endanger the community.
