Dramatic arrest inside police station

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged after allegedly robbing and then detaining a teenager inside Bass Hill police station yesterday.
About 4pm yesterday, a 16-year-old girl got off a school bus and was waiting for her parents outside Bass Hill police station.
A short time later, an 18-year-old woman, not known to the girl, approached her and allegedly threatened her with a knife, before demanding she hand over her mobile phone, which she did.
Police said the woman pushed the girl to the ground, before she picked her up and walked into the police station with the knife held to the girl's throat.
A senior constable on duty in the station called for urgent assistance before he approached the woman and negotiated with her to drop the knife and release the girl.
The woman has been charged with armed robbery, kidnap with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm; and stalk/intimidate.
The woman was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday, February 21).
