AN investigation is underway following the robbery of a man in Lidcombe overnight.
About 9.45pm (Monday, February 19), a 45-year-old man parked his vehicle outside his home on Ostend Street, Lidcombe, after finishing work.
As he retrieved a bag, containing the days takings, from the boot of his vehicle he was approached by a man who grabbed the bag and started running.
The victim gave chase for about 50 metres before being struck from behind by a white sedan causing him to fall onto the road.
He suffered minor injuries.
The man was seen getting into the vehicle as it sped away from the scene, turning left onto Parramatta Road.
Officers from Flemington Police Area Command have commenced inquiries and are looking for a man described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, aged in his late twenties or early thirties, with a thick black beard and short shaved head. At the time he was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and tan coloured shorts.
