Suspicious house fire in Condell Park

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a suspicious house fire at Condell Park this morning.
Emergency services were called to the premises in Mitchell Street shortly after 3am today (Thursday, February 8) after the home was found to be on fire.
Police from Bankstown Local Area Command have been told that a male resident was awoken about 3am by a noise.
When he went to investigate, he located a man in the premises.
The home was already on fire.
After the man fled, the resident awoke two other tenants in the premises and all three left the building.
The men suffered minor lacerations and smoke inhalation.
Fire-fighters extinguished the blaze, which has fire, smoke and water damage.
Bankstown Local Area Command officers attended and established a crime scene.
The man located in the home has not been further described, however a dark coloured hatchback was seen driving from nearby Leemon Street, shortly after the fire was discovered.
Investigators have appealed to the public for information about any unusual or suspicious activity in the area overnight. Anyone with information should contact Bankstown Police or Crime Stoppers.
