ATM destroyed in attempted theft

INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a failed attempt by thieves to access a Condell Park ATM in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Bankstown police were called to the Simmat Avenue bank about 2.45am after reports an alarm had been triggered.
A police spokesperson said NSW Fire and Rescue also attended and extinguished a fire that was threatening to spread. The spokesperson said the attempt to access the ATM was unsuccessful, and investigations into the incident are continuing.
