COMMUNITY groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for the next round of Sydney Motorway Corporation's (SMC) Community Grant Scheme which supports initiatives within the WestConnex corridor.
SMC chief executive officer Dennis Cliche said since the grant scheme was established last year, the program had been embraced by local communities.
Dhama Karta in South Granville and the Horn of Africa Relief and Development Agency (HARDA) at Homebush West each received funding under Round 1, along with Western Sydney Community Centre (WSCC) in Auburn.
The WSCC will use its grant to build upon existing multicultural playgroups at Auburn and Granville which focused on the principles of 'Targeted Early Intervention' and 'Positive Parenting Programs'.
Mr Cliche encouraged not-for-profit groups such as schools, sporting clubs and social enterprises to get their application in early for a grant up to $10,000.
Applications for next round of grants closed on Friday, January 5 at 5pm. For information, visit sydneymotorway.com.au/grants.
