VOLUNTEER a few hours of your time for an organisation that supports, respects and values all that you have to offer isolated older members of the community.
Canterbury Earlwood Caring Association (CECAL) is looking for keen, enthusiastic and caring individuals who would enjoy the company of some older members living in the local community.
Volunteers would be expected to chat, discuss mutual topics of interest or take part in other activities of interest such as gardening, handicrafts or simply have a cuppa with elderly people living in their own homes.
"Our Home Visiting Program services the local area of Canterbury–Earlwood," a spokesperson said.
"Our staff will find you a suitable match with someone with similar interests in your local community. Regular training and ongoing support will be provided.
"Volunteers will need to be fluent in English. All community languages welcome.
"You will be required to complete a national police check which we will organise and pay for."
Register your interest by calling Margherita on 9559 4013 (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), online at cecal.org.au or in person at 15 Clarke Street, Earlwood.
