Federal MP for Banks, David Coleman, addresses the community bushfire prevention forum at Padstow Heights.
WITH the start of summer, Federal MP for Banks, David Coleman, has hosted a community bushfire prevention forum at Padstow Heights.
The forum was held in the school hall at Padstow Heights Primary School and was attended by representatives of the Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire and Rescue, NSW Parks and Wildlife and Canterbury Bankstown Council. Mr Coleman held a similar forum in December 2016.
NSW Rural Fire Service District coordinator Inspector Scott Deller described to attendees how issues raised at the last forum had been resolved.
Mr Coleman said bushfire prevention was a serious issue in the area, which involved many different bodies.
"It is very useful to have all the parties with responsibilities in our area come together and listen to residents' concerns," Mr Coleman said.
Forum attendees were able to raise issues directly with participants. Local fire management issues in Padstow Heights, Revesby Heights and Picnic Point were raised. These issues will be investigated by the appropriate bodies to determine what action needs to be taken.
