MORE than 80,000 people will pack the Sydney Olympic Park precinct with two big sporting events this Saturday, December 9, with plenty of free festive family entertainment on offer to encourage early arrivals.
A Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) spokesperson says soccer fans will be at ANZ Stadium for the A-League's Sydney Derby double-header between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC, while basketball fans will head next door to watch the Sydney Kings play Brisbane at Qudos Arena.
"Arrive early and get into the festive spirit of Christmas as you exit the train station at Sydney Olympic Park with a giant Christmas tree and free entertainment from 4pm," she said.
"Get a free snap with Santa and the Olympic Cauldron, enjoy a live show with Santa's dancers and festive carollers or have a go at some of the kids' activities. Christmas Wonderland mascots will also perform and meet and greet the crowd in Cathy Freeman Park.
"Complete your experience with a tasty bite and book in at one of the many restaurants, cafés and bars in the Park or enjoy some international cuisine at the food stalls in the Park."
