GABRIELLE Carey will present a lecture on Ivan Southall at the Ashfield Library on Monday, November 13, 11am-12pm. Writing edgy stories for children and young people, Southall is described as the 'literary breakthrough artist of a generation'. He authored more than 50 books and was a dominant figure on school syllabuses in the 1960s and 70s.

Plan learner driver lesson

Puppy love at festival
RESIDENTS interested in adopting or fostering a rescue greyhound will be able to experience 'hound love' firsthand this Sunday, November 12, at Newtown Festival. Janet Flann, Greyhound Rescue (GR) founder, says rescue greyhounds will be available on the day at Newtown's Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, 9.30am–5.30pm.

Dementia support on offer
DECAFE Marrickville is a multicultural support group for people with dementia and their carers. Meet once a month with relevant health professionals and service providers in a casual environment and enjoy a morning tea (gold coin donation).
