THE Greek Orthodox Community are busy preparing for two major fundraising events during October.
The Greek Orthodox Community is one of Australia's oldest organisations representing Greek migrants. Apart from operating churches, afternoon Greek schools, kindergartens and a hostel for the aged, it provides a wide range of migrant related social services.
This Saturday the welfare arm of the organisation is hosting a 'Community Market Day' at the Greek Community Club in Lakemba Street from 8am to 6pm.
"The market will provide plenty of bargains and will feature collectables, art and handmade items," organiser Dominique George said.
Also, a 'Carer's Pamper Morning Tea' will be held at the same venue on Wednesday October 18, from 10am to midday. The day is designed to treat the hard work of carers within the Greek community.
