Revesby Orchid Club secretary, Ian Lawson will have some of his best flowering ‘Sarcos’ on exhibition at the Revesby Workers’ Club on Saturday.
AUSTRALIAN natives orchids in all their colourful splendour will be on show on Saturday at Revesby.
Revesby Orchid Club will be featuring 500 orchids in full bloom from the genus Sarcochilus, consisting of 25 species endemic to Australia.
Shortened to 'Sarco' in the horticultural world, 25 members of the Revesby Orchid Club will exhibiting their best flowering plants in the hope of taking out prizes in the various categories.
Club secretary, Ian Lawson said it has been a particularly good flowering season for Sarcos, and people are in for a treat when they visit the show from 9am to 3.30pm at the Revesby Workers' Club's Grevillea Room.
"It's the largest show of its type in Sydney," Mr Lawson said.
Plants will be on sale from 9am, with the orchids on view after judging from 9.30am. Entry is by gold coin donation.
Mr Lawson says food and beverages will be available for purchase and there is plenty of parking available with easy access for the disabled.
