Inner West is one of the 46 newly amalgamated councils to have their first election following local government mergers in May last year and voting is compulsory.
The NSW Electoral Commission is managing the election and residents will need to know if they fall within the Balmain, Leichhardt, Stanmore, Ashfield or Marrickville Wards, as well as the applicable polling places.
Pre-polling can be carried out at the Ashfield Service Centre, the Leichhardt Town Hall and the Inner West Returning Officer's Office at 373-383 Illawarra Road in Marrickville, as well as the Sydney Town Hall.
Opening hours vary and can be checked by calling the NSW Electoral Commission on 1300 135 736 or by visiting votensw.info.
Information on candidates is also available at candidates.elections.nsw.gov.au.
