FEATURING free workshops and events as part of NSW Bike Week this month, the second Inner West Big Bike Week will be held across the new Inner West Council local government area starting this weekend.
There will be a Bicycle Maintenance Workshop at Bastable Street Hall, Croydon, this Sunday, September 10, 9am-1.30pm, with each rider needing to bring their own bike and be willing to work on it.
Participants will learn the basics of caring for their bike, including putting air in the tyres, cleaning the chain, adjusting brakes and changing and repairing tubes.
A City Cycle Confidence Course will be on offer on Sunday, September 17, 9am to 1.30pm at Whites Creek Valley Park in Annandale, designed for all those who know how to ride a bike but want more experience riding on the road and for safer cycling across the city.
Along with a guided 6km group ride leaving War Memorial Park, Leichhardt, at 11.30am on Sunday, September 24, there will be obstacle courses, skills workshops, rock climbing, face painting, pedal-powered smoothies and a free lunch.
