Michael Hodgins will be a Daffodil Day volunteer.
CANCER Council is encouraging locals to show support for someone they know affected by cancer by volunteering their time this Daffodil Day on Friday, August 25.
Now in its 31st year, Daffodil Day is one of the largest fundraising events in the Southern Hemisphere, and Cancer Council NSW is calling on people to join the volunteer team for Daffodil Day this year.
Alexandria resident Michael Hodgins will volunteer his time on Daffodil Day by selling Cancer Council fresh daffodils, pins and merchandise at the Bunnings in Alexandria. Michael said that he was volunteering on Daffodil Day in order to do his part to help beat cancer.
"Unfortunately, cancer touches a lot of people's lives, including my own. I work as a researcher in palliative care and spend a lot of time with healthcare professionals who treat cancer patients," Michael said.
"The more people get involved on the day, the more we can work together towards a cancer-free future."
