REHEARSALS are underway for the talented dancers and singers from several local primary and high schools who will feature in the 2017 Our Spectacular Event at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on September 18.
Dance groups from Guildford, Granville, Granville South and Lidcombe Public Schools, were among the schools auditioning for the performance, receiving high praise from the judges and will have dancers taking part in the event.
Lidcombe's Primary Dance Troupe was also among the few chosen as a stand-alone school act, while a dozen students from Guildford PS will also join the Combined Schools Choir performing at the event.
In keeping with this year's theme of 'music from around the world', students from Granville Boys High School's Senior Arabic Band led by Mr Ahmed Hablos, will also play a modern popular music piece from Syria, called 'Ma7laki', in traditional costume and featuring the exciting dancing tabul players.
