POLICE are investigating the cause of a fire which damaged a Chester Hill house this morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW were called to Barbers Road about 3am to find a home well-alight. Six people living in the home escaped without injury.
Fire-fighters contained the blaze to the rear of the building; however, the fire is estimated to have caused $250,000 damage.
A neighbour, Lillian Swinfield said she was awoken by sirens this morning.
"One of the twin boys alerted the family to the fire," she said.
"Thankfully they all got out in time.
"The couple have twin boys and quadruplet children. They are such a nice family; this will be a big set back for them."
A crime scene has been established at the site and is being examined, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Anyone with information about the fire is urged to contact Bankstown Police or Crime Stoppers.
