Meaty challenge to win share of $6,000

MEAT will be smoking and smouldering as teams go head to head in a barbecue challenge in the carpark of the Auburn Tennis Club on April 1 and 2.
Run by the Australian Barbecue Society, teams will be vying for a prize pool of $6,000 in five meat categories, including chicken, brisket, lamb on Saturday, with pork and pork ribs going on the heat on Sunday.
Admission is free and there will also be vendors selling American food and drinks, as well as a display of American cars and Elvis may even be in the building for a short visit.
There will also be a raffle for a Gateway 55 Drum Smoker valued at $1,600 to be drawn at the event.
