ONE of Bankstown's favourite daughters, Casey Donovan has been voted 'Queen of the Jungle' in the grand finale of the television reality show I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
Over the past six weeks, Australia has fallen in love with Casey, the 2004 winner of Australian Idol, as she threw herself into all elements of jungle life in the Network Ten series that had her put through challenges in an African jungle.
The ARIA Award-winning singer, who grew up in Bankstown, brought music and laughter to the camp, entertaining her fellow celebrity campmates with songs, including a rendition of John Farnham's hit 'Burn For You'.
"I'm surprised that I'm here," Casey said of her win.
"I'm grateful. I'm proud of myself, and everything everyone has achieved.
"I'm beside myself … It's been fun, it's been amazing. It's something that you'll only do once. I gave it a go, and I can - we all can - be super proud of ourselves," she said.
AFL legend Dane Swan was voted by viewers as runner up, while pop diva Natalie Bassingthwaighte took third place. Casey won $100,000 for her chosen charity, Starlight Children's Foundation, for taking out the title.
