FOR over 30 years, the Bankstown community has been very fortunate to have local stalwart and former mayor Kevin Hill spend much of his time volunteering in many capacities to enrich the community.
Recently rewarded with the Order of Australia Medal, Mr Hill's passionate desire to provide care for the elderly, has involved his 34-year voluntary commitment to Bankstown City Aged Care.
Kevin joined the organisation in 1983 as a Director and in 1990 became Chairman.
"Over the years, Kevin has helped fundraise more than $10m in community donations towards the building of quality aged care facilities," a spokesperson said.
"The current project is the construction of a 48 bed dementia specific unit at Yallambee Village, Revesby, due for completion in March 2018."
