Summer hazards to watch out for

Story appeared in: Valley | November 16th, 2016

WITH summer on its way, the NRMA is warning motorists not to open the bonnet of an overheated vehicle, while Fire and RescueNSW is urging residents to check their barbecue following a spate of gas explosions.
The NRMA says there has been a spate of incidents where people have seriously hurt themselves trying to open the bonnet or remove a radiator cap.
NRMA Roadside's Robert Younes says people might not realise just how dangerous it can be to remove a radiator cap from a hot engine.
FRNSW Commissioner Greg Mullins also urged people not to be complacent when firing up their barbecue this season.
