BANKSTOWN Central's Children in Crisis gifting campaign, in partnership with the City of Canterbury Bankstown and the Bulldogs Rugby League Club, raised $4000 to purchase Christmas gifts for children living in crisis accommodation.
The gifts were presented to the multicultural family homelessness support service, Linking Hearts to distribute in the days leading up to Christmas.
Bankstown Central manager Anthony Wilson acknowledged the tremendous support given to the campaign by the local community.
"Along with the support of the community, the Centre raised enough funds to purchase gifts for 119 children and 38 mothers and provide some much-needed sparkle to their Christmas day," Mr Wilson said..
Linking Hearts Manager Feda Rifai said the surprise and joy on the faces of the children are something she'll never forget.
"Our thanks go to everyone whose generosity helped make it a much happier day for these children and their mums."
